The history of LC-Tec
1988
LC-Tec Automation AB is founded to develop and manufacture equipment for LCD production.
1992
LC-Tec Displays AB is established with the purpose to find new applications for the LCD technology that Dr. Åke Hörnell has developed for auto darkening welding-filter.
1993
LC-Tec Holding AB is established and forms new fields of applications together with the subsidiaries LC-Tec Automation AB and LC-Tec Displays AB.
1999
The company starts a production unit for lenses (for LCD displays).
2002
The LC-Tec Group performs a major organizational restructuring.
2003
A division of de American Vizta 3D, Inc is acquired and LC-Tec creates the subsidiary LightSpace Technologies AB. The company is listed on NGM Nordic OTC, presently NGM MTF.
2004
The company extends the business model further and starts custom-design of optical lenses in the area of LCD.
2007
LC-Tec acquires the operation in Asia (presently Business Area Asia) from Hörnell Teknikinvest AB.
2009
Cooperation with Lightspeed Technologies Inc is initiated in the area of projector applications.
2010
Business Area Asia faces hard price competition from local producers, resulting in radical down-turn in sales and income. The company starts focusing the strategy in the area of 3D products.
2011
LC-Tec intensifies the partnership with Lightspeed Technologies Inc. Further, partnership is developed together with Seiko Instruments, Japan. The company intensifies the market communication such as participation at industry events and exhibitions.
